Gameloft has teamed up with the creators of the popular Solana NFT collection Claynosaurz to develop a mobile game based on the digital dinosaur characters. Announced on Thursday, this partnership marks a significant expansion for Claynosaurz, which initially launched as NFT collectibles on Solana in 2022 and has since grown a large following on social media.

While details about the gameplay are still under wraps, the game is expected to blend elements of a "choose your own adventure" experience with location-based gameplay similar to Pokémon Go. It will be available on both Android and iOS platforms. This move is part of a broader strategy by Claynosaurz to bridge Web2 and Web3 audiences, offering a fun and immersive experience without heavily emphasizing its crypto roots.

Nicholas Cabana, co-founder and creative director of Claynosaurz, emphasized how the partnership with Gameloft marks a turning point in the gaming industry by putting players at the center of the experience and giving them ownership of digital assets. Cabana praised Gameloft’s forward-thinking culture, citing the company’s history in pioneering mobile gaming.

Rather than focusing on crypto onboarding, Claynosaurz aims to prioritize user experience and gameplay. Jacques Letesson, Head of Product at Claynosaurz, explained that their goal is to create immersive worlds where digital assets can hold tangible and transferable value, challenging traditional gaming economies.
