North Korean Hackers Use Fake NFT Game to Steal Crypto

The Lazarus Group, a North Korean hacking organization, used a fake NFT game called DeTankZone or DeTankWar to steal cryptocurrency. The game tricked users by exploiting a zero-day vulnerability in Google Chrome, installing spyware to steal wallet credentials. Promoted on social media, it appeared as a legitimate “play-to-earn” game but infected users simply by visiting its website. Microsoft and Kaspersky Labs detected the attack, and Google patched the flaw within 12 days. The scam highlights the evolving tactics hackers use to exploit blockchain platforms.
