Sentient completes 650K NFT mint, MegaETH’s soulbound NFTs

Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) firm Sentient has completed a record-breaking non-fungible token (NFT) minting campaign, with over 650,000 participants securing fractional ownership of its decentralized AI model, Dobby. Participants minted "Fingerprints" NFTs by proving their humanity through a randomized IQ test, aiming to create a community-controlled AI protocol. Sandeep Nailwal, founder of Polygon and a core contributor to Sentient, emphasized the importance of community ownership to ensure the AI's alignment and loyalty.

In another development, Ethereum layer-2 project MegaETH has introduced "The Fluffle," a collection of 10,000 soulbound NFTs representing 5% ownership in the MegaETH network. Priced at 0.1 Ether each, these non-transferable NFTs aim to provide meaningful ownership while avoiding invasive Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements and maintaining anti-Sybil measures. The sale is divided into "retroactive" and "proactive" installments, offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

These initiatives highlight the growing intersection of blockchain technology and AI, emphasizing community ownership and decentralized control in emerging digital ecosystems.
