Soccer Franchise FC Barcelona Scores World of Women for Upcoming NFT Release

FC Barcelona, the European football franchise, has partnered with NFT collection World of Women to release the second digital collectible in its ten-piece "Masterpiece" collection. The NFT, titled "Empowerment," is a one-of-one token created by World of Women artist Rhi Madeline and pays tribute to Spanish soccer player Alexia Putellas.

The artwork represents Putellas' role in Barcelona's historic victory in the semi-final match of the Women's Champion League against German team Wolfsburg in April 2022. The NFT captures the empowerment and strength demonstrated by Putellas during the game, which was watched by nearly 92,000 viewers.

The "Empowerment" NFT will be available for auction on the OpenSea marketplace from June 26 to June 28. In addition to owning the digital artwork, the winning bidder will receive various FC Barcelona benefits, including the opportunity to meet Alexia Putellas, a pair of signed soccer cleats, and a physical chair from Barcelona Stadium Spotify Camp Nou. They will also receive a signed portrait of Putellas by artist Oscar Tusquets.
