Ubisoft NFT Collection Will Be Launched to Layer 2 Arbitrum
Ubisoft is preparing to launch a new NFT collection on the Layer 2 Ethereum scaling network, Arbitrum, in collaboration with Magic Eden and the Arbitrum Foundation. This collection, called Captain Laserhawk: the G.A.M.E. NFT Collection, will feature 10,000 dynamic "Niji Warrior ID Cards," linked to Ubisoft's latest Web3 game. The NFTs will provide holders with early access to a multiplayer shooter set in a futuristic world inspired by the Netflix series Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix.
Holders of these NFTs will not only gain access to the game but also to its governance model, enabling them to vote on game updates and create user-generated content. Ubisoft is incorporating a play-to-earn system where performance, tracked via an "Eden Score," increases the holder's influence and rewards within the game. As players participate more actively, they unlock additional perks, emphasizing the game's community-driven development.
This marks Ubisoft's second major venture into blockchain gaming, following their previous game Champions Tactics: Grimoria Chronicles on the Oasys network. Ubisoft's choice to launch on Arbitrum reflects a broader industry trend of adopting Layer 2 solutions, which offer improved scalability and interoperability for developers and players alike.
