Virtual Reality Platform Decentraland Outpaces All Other NFT Projects in Terms of Recent Development: Santiment

Decentraland (MANA), an Ethereum-based virtual reality platform, continues to lead in development activity among NFT projects, as reported by crypto analytics firm Santiment. Over the past 30 days, Decentraland recorded 143 notable GitHub events, maintaining its top position since September.

Following Decentraland, Flow (FLOW), a layer-1 permissionless blockchain, registered 114.9 notable events. Metaplex (MPLX), a decentralized NFT platform on Solana, moved into third place with 42.47 events, surpassing Immutable X (IMX), an NFT layer-2 scaling solution, which had 37.73 events.

Santiment's methodology excludes routine updates, focusing on significant development activities to provide a clearer picture of project progress. The firm suggests that substantial development activity indicates strong developer confidence and reduces the likelihood of exit scams.

Despite leading in development, Decentraland's native token, MANA, has experienced a decline. Currently trading at approximately $0.322, MANA has seen a decrease of over 31% in the past seven days and more than 37% in the past month.

Decentraland allows users to purchase virtual land as NFTs using MANA, fostering a decentralized virtual world where users can create, explore, and trade. The platform has been in development since 2015 and opened to the public in February 2020.

The sustained development activity underscores the commitment of Decentraland's developers to enhance the platform, even amid market fluctuations.
