Y00ts NFT Collection is Migrating to Ethereum After Accepting $3M Grant From Polygon
The Y00ts NFT collection, which initially started on Solana and later migrated to Polygon after receiving a $3 million grant, has now announced that it will be leaving Polygon and returning the grant money it received. The project plans to migrate to Ethereum to bring together the communities of Y00ts and another project called DeGods, which also migrated to Ethereum earlier this year.
The migration date to Ethereum will be announced soon, and DeGods is also set to release a Season III collection in conjunction with the migration news. Both Y00ts and DeGods had previously announced their departure from Solana, where they were major contributors to the NFT sale volume.
While Y00ts had initially migrated to Polygon and intended to use the grant money for team expansion and project growth, the decision to move to Ethereum is driven by the desire to unite the two communities and operate on the same chain as DeGods. Polygon plans to redeploy $1 million of the refunded grant to support its native network of builders and creators.
The co-founder of Polygon, Sandeep Nailwal, expressed support for the decision and acknowledged the positive role that Vora and his team played in expanding Polygon's NFT ecosystem. He emphasized the intention to continue nurturing the community and supporting projects that contribute to the evolution of NFTs.
This move highlights the dynamic nature of the NFT space and the various shifts that projects undergo in pursuit of community cohesion and ecosystem growth.
