Yuga Labs Announces Skill-Based NFT Mint
Yuga Labs, the creative studio behind Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC), has announced an expansion to its NFT ecosystem with a gamified experience called Dookey Dash. The expansion begins with a free mint of Sewer Passes for existing Bored Ape Yacht Club/Mutant Ape Yacht Club holders. Sewer Passes are tokens that unlock the skill-based game Dookey Dash, which will be playable starting on January 18.
Anyone holding a Sewer Pass, whether obtained for free or purchased on the secondary marketplace, will be able to play Dookey Dash an unlimited number of times. The goal of the game is to achieve a score higher than 0 to validate the Sewer Pass and transform it into a mysterious power source. The results of the game will be revealed on February 15.
The highest score achieved by a player on their specific Sewer Pass will determine what is revealed, and Yuga Labs has hinted that the revelation will evolve throughout 2023 and be used in future battles. This new NFT mint is part of Yuga Labs' broader plans to develop "The Otherside," an interoperable metaverse experience where players can own land and turn their existing NFTs into playable characters.
The NFTs created during this month-long experiment will become part of a narrative experience called "Chapter 1" in the future, according to Yuga Labs' roadmap. The expansion aims to create an engaging and interactive experience for Bored Ape Yacht Club and Mutant Ape Yacht Club community members.
