NFT Marketplace Blockparty Partners With DJ 3LAU on Digital Music Collectibles

Blockparty, a digital collectibles maker, has announced a collaboration with DJ 3LAU to release audio-visual non-fungible tokens (NFTs). These "audio-reactive" collectibles combine 3LAU's music with moving graphics created by artist Mike Parsella. As part of the collaboration, 3LAU has joined Blockparty as the director of music and will contribute to the development of digital collectibles.

3LAU, who was involved in the first music concert featuring ticketing powered by the Ethereum blockchain in 2018, will also advise Blockparty on bringing other musicians on board. Blockparty recently launched its own NFT marketplace after initially focusing on ticketing for events via Ethereum. The decision to expand into all NFTs was driven by the difficulty of scaling the ticketing business and competition from larger ticketing companies with exclusive event access.

While live concerts are currently on hiatus due to the pandemic, Blockparty plans to offer additional perks to users who own 3LAU's collectibles once concerts resume. These perks may include giveaways and access to events.
